The initial round with HR was smooth and easy. However, she constantly kept asking are you actively looking or just browsing, even after me saying multiple times that I will consider it if its perfect fit. They were nice enough to spend time on answering all questions on culture, pay range, hiring process etc. 2nd round was with hiring manager, he asked general sales and qualification of leads questions and asking about my overall experiences. the only suggestion i had is, if you are judging cadicates profile, please make sure you update your linkedin bio first, your exprience and bio is from a previous empolyer which is 2 years dated and you cant judge a candidate for their connection and sales experience. I was told that next round will be with VP or someone senior to hiring manager. after mutiple follows, i was asked to be patient, but they did not communicate till date. Did not get an offer, overall, a laid back approach from management.

Question 1
What are some important deals that you have closed?
Initial call with recruiter went well. Was told to expect a follow up from her and hiring manager. No reponse no follow up and the position ia still up. I might not have been the right candidate but usually after a call you get some kind of update. Nothing from them at all
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Proofpoint (London, England) in Jun 2024
Interview
The interview process with Proofpoint started off well but unfortunately left a lot to be desired by the end. Initially, I was in contact with a recruiter, and our communication was quite flexible. I underwent several rounds of interviews, which included discussions with hiring managers and department leaders. I even delivered a formal presentation to a panel of senior employees, demonstrating my skills and commitment to the role. Despite the time and effort I invested in preparing for these interviews and presentations, the entire process ultimately ended with me being ghosted by the company.
After the final round, including the presentation, I received no communication or feedback regarding the outcome of my application. I attempted to follow up with the recruiter multiple times, only to be met with silence. I completely understand not being selected for a role—that happens and is part of the process—but not informing candidates after such a thorough process is highly unprofessional. The lack of communication, particularly after engaging with the company at such a deep level, shows a disregard for the candidate's time and effort. This kind of behavior is not acceptable, especially for a company of Proofpoint’s stature.
Given this experience, it doesn't surprise me that Proofpoint currently holds a Glassdoor rating of 3.6. This lack of professionalism in their recruitment process reflects poorly on their internal culture and may explain their average rating. It’s disappointing that a company which prides itself on innovation and excellence in cybersecurity cannot handle a basic recruitment process properly.
