I applied online. I interviewed at PulteGroup (Schaumburg, IL)
Interview
Like A police interrogation empolyer only cares about you’re past and not you’re future with a new job did not like or enjoy the interview process in any capacity interviewer was very rude and unprofessional
The whole interview process was extremely unprofessional. My experience started out with the person scheduling the interview for the wrong location, which was an hour away from my house. They told me on the phone that I would be interviewing at this location BUT WOULD NOT BE WORKING THERE. Low and behold, when I get the verbal offer, it is for that location I interviewed at an hour away. Should have known something was wrong at that point. I declined the offer, and someone called me a few days later to interview at another location. They say I would start at that location then move to another upcoming location closer to my house. They offered me the job and I asked for the future transfer to be included in my offer. I also negotiated salary, and requested a number that was within the range for the position (I was working with a recruiter who gave me that info). After I countered their offer, I then received a voicemail from someone who says they are rescinding my offer due to my salary demands and relocation demands. So unprofessional. The salary I asked for was within the range available for the position, and I asked for a relocation that they already told me they could give me. They obviously were making promises the couldn't keep, just to get me there. Stay far away from these grimy business practices.

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at PulteGroup
Interview
Usually a two round interview process. One with the area construction manager and the other with the region VP. Typical 1st round is getting to know you and your background as well as the position requirements. I personally didn't get to the 2nd round interview because the company went back on a hiring freeze.

Nothing out of the ordinary. Basic "why you?" "why did you get into this profession?" etc.
