I was brought into the pwc offices without applying. A family friend was a partner at the location I was interviewing at. Pwc contacted me to come in for an interview. . Out of the 4 interns there was one who was the daughter of a retired partner, one who was the niece of a partner, one who claimed he didn't know anyone and me. Advice - know someone who works there if you want to get a job.
