The process started well with clear updates, good communication, and positive feedback after each stage. I completed all interviews and assessments successfully and was told things were moving toward an offer. Then, without warning, the process ended because my salary expectation was “over budget.” This figure was clearly stated at the very first application stage. If it was beyond budget, it should have been addressed right away and not after weeks of interviews, take-home work, and document sharing. Extremely frustrating, unprofessional, and a complete waste of time!

I applied through recruiter. The first interview was over the phone about 30 minutes long, where they went through my CV. The second interview was at QBE office in Sydney, which was about one hour. In this interview, we went through some of my projects. I explained one project in quite detail. The second part of interview was case-study on linear regression. The case-study was very open-ended and I was asked to use linear regression. I think I did a great job. This was on of my best interviews and I am still surprised I did not progress to the next round!
