I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Qualcomm (San Diego, CA)
Interview
This was by far the worst interview experience that I've ever had. I thought this big company would have their stuff together... I guess not!
I received my schedule days before and would be speaking with four people. I was excited.
I did a lot of pre-work. I had a list of notes and questions and felt very prepared. But none of my pre-work mattered.
First interviewer: The hiring manager looked at his computer screen most of our conversation. He kept yawning and acted distracted. Never saw him again.
Second interviewer: The director was very nice and lovely. No complaints.
Third interviewer: Printed my resume right in front of me then moved us to a busy open area for the interview. I had someone sit right next to me as I was trying to answer questions - very distracting.
Fourth interviewer: No show. I waited 15 minutes, he didn't show up. the 3rd interviewer returned and said "He's on a phone call. I think we're done." Those were the exact words... 'I think we're done."
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Qualcomm (San Diego, CA) in Jul 2022
Interview
Spent a total of 3+ months interviewing for the position. 13 total interviews, in-person presentations at their office, and extremely intense reference checks. I was completely transparent about my salary expectations from the beginning with the recruiter and told them I didn't want to waste anyone's time and was told although I was at the high of the range, I should keep the process going and they could make it work. At the end of the process, I was told I was chosen and everything went perfectly, however during the weeks of them "trying to put to the official offer together" I was finally told they went with someone else last-minute with little to no explanation. I asked for more feedback and they ghosted me...It was very clear they thought I was too expensive and tried to get someone cheaper and did. Overall, it felt like a complete waste of time and I was not respected for the amount of time I put in whatsoever for the countless interviews and hoops I had to jump through. Completely turned off from Qualcomm and won't be pursuing them again.
