Had 4 different interviewers on site.
The first interview was mostly about the types of infrastructure I've worked with before and how it has been managed. I had to describe the continuous integration and how it would fit into kubernetes environment. A lot of white boarding.
The second part was a coding question which had to do with distribution of various ip addresses into different buckets depending on their properties.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Quizlet (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2018
Interview
Typical interview setup w/ phone screen, phone interview and then onsite interview.
The interview went great and I performed well.
I was told that they were looking for "an engineer" instead of someone who knew systems. My rejection came in the form of "Did not know enough systems".
The "Old Guard" seems to be in full effect at Quizlet. They had recently hired a new manager to clean it up.
Additionally, It is apparent from the SRE interview below (candidate accepted) that Quizlet didn't know exactly what they wanted at the time of my interview.
