I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Quo (Coquitlam, BC) in Nov 2025
Interview
4 stage interview process + recruiter screen. Started with a 30 minute phone based screen with the recruiter, discussing expectations and brief work history. Then moved forward to a 45 min conversation with an Engineering Leader, in this case the Director of Engineering, where we had a conversation about my recent work history and technical challenges I overcame. After that was a 1 hour Systems Design interview with another engineer, discussing improvements to an established design, evaluating tradeoffs and optimizations. Next round was a 1 hour technical screen with a Staff level engineer, where I got to discuss a technically complex problem I solved in a past role, diving deep into the details of the issue and how the solution was reached. I was also asked generalized questions testing my systems and language knowledge. The last interview was a culture fit with another Engineering leader. We discussed collaboration and how I manage interpersonal disputes, as well as examples of times I exhibited the values important to Quo. All the interviews were conversations, no whiteboarding or take home projects were given.
