Typical phone screen with direct hiring manager, then a 1st on-site 2 on 1 (including a facility tour), followed-up with a 2nd on-site 2 on 1 and sales group panel interview, lastly a 2 on 1 with the owner and a soon to be leaving operations manager. A very involved process, working around my current work schedule to be there for the interviews.
Was given the impression and told that I was their top candidate, until meeting with the owner and everything derailed. Was asked inappropriate interview questions (see below), told that he does not trust law enforcement because of their questionable integrity, and then drilled on my integrity over and over like a scorned, damaged business owner. It was sad at the end; felt like I was getting Punked. And, I felt like the owner was going to immediately hunt down and fire the Director of Sales because his sales team is still a group of order-takers, after numerous months of needed change.
Great products, poor owner leadership, and a serious sales division revamp is needed NOW.
During the interview with the owner, he repeatedly voiced concerns and threats towards current employees, who have given the company poor Glassdoor reviews. I hope he doesn't hunt you down and find you. People need to know this stuff about prospective companies.
I left the building with no idea of what just happened, and a much lessening desire to work for National Products.
I was eventually told they "are going a different direction" with the position.
