      I interviewed at RAND

      Interview

interview process was straightforward. I was interviewed for a higher level position at the time. The interviewer expressed that I was a great candidate for the role. The hiring team even followed up with me at one point following the interview to let me know "they were looking forward to working with me on the project" after submitting my references. Didn't hear anything over the course of the next week. followed up with the recruitment team, and they said I should expect my official offer soon. When I received my official offer, it was for a lower position that I had never interviewed for, according to the Workday platform. I believe this was a DEI move and a classic example of bait and switch. Had no choice but to deny the offer for the lower position, as I was overqualified for it. I tried to negotiate and they did not budge. Suddenly, I did not have the required years of experience, even though I did. Know your worth.
