      Project Coordinator Interview

      Nov 22, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Sterling, VA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at REI Systems (Sterling, VA) in Oct 2016

      Interview

I applied for the job online and was contacted by a recruiter after a week for a phone interview. After a week, a recruiter contacted me by email and asked me what was the best time for him to call. I responded to his question. The following week, he called and left a message. I called him back and left a message. Finally, after a few missed calls, the recruiter scheduled a phone interview with the Senior Project Coordinator. It was a pleasant experience, but I was not called for a face to face interview.

      Application

I interviewed at REI Systems (Sterling, VA)

      Interview

There were three levels to the interview process. I met with the HR team, my direct supervisor as well as the manager in charge of the entire department. The HR interview was the most difficult, but still very reasonable and was appropriate for the position. I actually enjoyed the process and felt it was manageable.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at REI Systems (Sterling, VA)

      Interview

The first phone call was a phone screen that lasted about 6-10 minutes. The recruiter talked the whole time about the position and the company. I believe the only question I had to answer was if I was still interested. Before the 2nd phone call, you have to take an online analytical test. If you get about 30% or more, you move forward. The second call was a 50 minute phone call with the senior project manager. Talked again about the duties of the position. You were given the opportunity to ask questions. Next was the on-site interview. From my second call, I was told that the interview process has 3 rounds. I assumed that the on-site was the 3rd round. However, upon arriving to the interview, I found out that the on-site interview itself has 3 rounds. The first round is with 2 people; this lasted about an hour. They mainly did a high-level overview of the company and how your position is incorporated in it. If they like you, then you have the 2nd round with one person, which lasted about 40 minutes. This person only asked questions. I was suppose to meet with the 3rd person (same person as the 2nd phone call) that day but he didn't arrive. They said they'll call me later if things go well to schedule a time to come in to meet with the 3rd person. This was not advantageous to me as I almost had the 3rd round during my on-site. I will say the recruiter was extremely helpful during the on-site. He made you feel comfortable, welcome, and as if he was on your side. Before the 2nd phone call and the on-site interview, the recruiter sent me a detailed email, listing the duration of each round and the people whom I will be speaking with. This was extremely helpful as a lot of other companies don't even tell you the name of the interviewers. My on-site did run 20 minutes over. They time between the 1st and 2nd round was not accounted for in the email so I would recommend including that for future interviewers. The building itself is pretty nice. REI Systems has the whole 2-story building to itself. Has a basketball court, a game room, a few lounge areas. Bright lighting. Each business unit has its own area of cubicles.
