I was ghosted twice -- by two *different* recruiters. I applied online, got an email a few days later asking to set up a phone screen. I emailed the recruiter back, heard nothing. I emailed again a week later and again got no response. Then, about a month later a different recruiter called me and left a voicemail about wanting to schedule an interview. I called back about 15 minutes later, left that person a voicemail AND sent an email...no response. I sent the second recruiter an email a few days later to check in, and you guessed it...no response. The first ghosting I can maybe understand (things happen) but TWICE by two different people is inexcusable. Why go through the effort of calling me and then not respond back when I try to reach you?
Other Software Developer Interview Reviews for REI Systems
The interview process contains at least 3 Rounds. 1. Technical Round (Tech-related questions) 2. Advanced Technical Round (In-depth interview on specific technologies) 3. Project Manager round (Like a job fit)
I interviewed with REI over the phone with a recruiter for a position. We simply went over some job listing check marks in an initial phone screen. He did not seem very knowledgeable over what technologies were even being asked, but he was able to navigate it well enough
Upon asking for my salary expectations, I said I did not know enough about the exact position to say. He proceeded to become extremely condescending and start lecturing me about how I should be negotiating my salary. I hung up because I am screening for a job interview, not battling with someone on how salary negotiation should be handled.
The recruiter then proceeded to text me an offer to teach me "how to handle the salary question" and how he was "more than willing to give it to (me)". It was really unprofessional and this would also be the first time I have ever hung up on a recruiter mid interview
