I was contacted within the hour of applying (on a Thursday) for the HR Leader and HR Specialist positions and scheduled my own interview via their online booking tool for the following Monday at 4:30 PM. The booking tool seemed a little too impersonal in my opinion but I also don't know how busy the recruiting team is. When the scheduled time came around, I got an email from the recruiter almost 10 minutes after the start time that another meeting popped up on her calendar and could we reschedule for tomorrow. I responded back almost immediately letting her know that it was fine and if it could be after 5:00 PM as I had a meeting at work from 4 - 5. I never got a response back so I proceeded to just book my own appointment again using the online booking tool. I responded back to let her know that I had rescheduled for 5:30 PM the next day, but still never heard back from her. One the recruiter finally did call me (10 minutes after the scheduled time), she was completely unapologetic for being late this time, her lack of responsiveness, and for the late cancel the prior day. When I answered the phone, the recruiter was very abrupt and harsh but finally loosened up after a few minutes.
There were a few things that really irked me during the interview that also really turned me off from the company.
1. The recruiter sent me an email for an interview referencing the HR Leader position. TO prepare for the interview, I really familiarized myself with the job description for that position. About halfway through our conversation, she started asking me questions regarding the HR Specialist position. She obviously meant to contact me in regards to that but when mentioned didn't even acknowledge it.
2. This interview was for a call center and when I asked what the skills they were looking for and what challenges they had in this facility, long story short the recruiter said they had a hard time getting the vision across to these type of people as the corporate office and "this type" of facility were very different. It just came across as a very elitist attitude and that they were needing someone that could "dumb down" that vision to ensure everyone got the message.
As the first face of the company, it's really concerning that this is the type of people you have representing you. As an HR professional, it's almost sickening to be treated this way. As much as I love this company, I would definitely recommend some time management or soft skills training for their recruiters. I would have for them to potentially lose top talent due to the attitude/demeanor of their recruiters.
