I will state that I was contacted by their recruiter for this role and did not apply for the role. Overall the interview with the CEO was polite and relaxed with a general discussion of the company and the role. Past that all of the red flags were related to culture. Before accepting the interview I noticed the reviews on Glassdoor referring to this company as a "Good Old Boys Club". After interviewing, I am forced to agree. 1. When asked about the negative reviews speaking to those statements, I was told that they use to be that way and were making changes. In the same breath, he said that reputation management was "BS". 2. When he was asked about diversity, he only spoke about hiring more women. the CEO did not address hiring people of color or LGBTQ+ individuals. During this statement, he also told me the ages of the people in leadership. Age discrimination is a real thing and shouldn't be mentioned. 3. The CEO repeatedly referenced family and that his wife likes to socialize with many team members. He also made multiple references to home and family in a highly traditional sense. Not everyone is traditional, yet they made amazing employees. 4. When walking through the office, I saw very little in the way of diversity. Summary: RJ Young seems to have a solid product and service offering and a solid financial outlook, but the statement about the "Good Old Boy Club" is, in my opinion, very truthful. The recruiter contacted me two days later informing me that they are not moving forward with my candidacy because they could not provide "the right environment for your success in the role."
