For sophomores in college: After I applied I reached out to a recruiter I previously made contact with and that pushed me to the front of the line and had an interview scheduled immediately. All they asked were questions designed to get to know me, they asked to hear more about certain sections of my resume and I found ways to keep it light by talking about casual topics here and there. I heard back a day later with an offer.
