Called number given to me by a safeway store trying to help me find work. Called and left a message, a few hours later i was having a phone interview where i was hired on the spot. went in for training and picked up quickly. went to a lead position eventually but things gt worse- high stress high expectations not in job description

Interview
Applied online, within 2-3 days received a brief phone interview with the recruiter. All went well and scheduled an in-person interview the next week on Tuesday to further discuss the job and availability times.
Received a job offer and notified the recruiter I'll email her by the end of the weekend that I'll be able start the job in two weeks (Had to work out time restraints with my other job before fully accepting position, although I filled out complete paperwork for employment).
Received a email from the recruiter the job offer is no longer extended early Saturday morning, the same day I planned on responding back to notify her my manager worker out my schedule on Friday so that I'll be able to work the position.
Overall unprofessional, If you had a set start date for new employees to begin work, why offer a position?
