Thankfully, I went through the entire interview process at RSI Security for the Sales Executive—Solution Advisor (Hunter) position, so you don't have to.
First, you will fill out an application akin to an application at the local community college, where you will be asked essay questions about your experience. If you take the hour to fill out the application, you will get an email in your junk mail filter. All RSI's email correspondence will go into the junk email file, so keep an eye on it if you'd like to go through this process and waste your time. Their Email Sendex score is very low, about .18, a Red Flag. If you take a sales role there, you'd have to get a new IP address to send emails that wouldn't go into the junk filter, a significant disadvantage for the sales role you are applying to. Next, you will get an Aptitude test and a Personality test to fill out. This second personality test will take another 45 minutes to an hour. After that, you will get a call from the HR director who will screen you and ask you to possibly retake the test to ensure you are precisely what they are looking for in sales, add another hour and fifteen minutes. A day or two later, you will get a call from the HR director, who will send you a SparkHire virtual self-interview invite, for which you will have to clear your calendar over the next three days. You will be cut off from future consideration if you don't take it in three days. b You will not advance further if you don't do the Spark Hire virtual self-interview. I wish I didn't make the three-day cut. But I did, so you don't have to. The Spark Hire virtual self-interview - the self-interview is better on a PC, and it takes about an hour to complete. It is degrading because you will not talk to a human for a long while afterward. Expect a lot of follow-up, and check your junk email folder if you want to speak to someone. See questions below and answers below. AI is doing the heavy lifting here. Expect to wait 6 weeks for the next steps. The next step after feeling ghosted is a six-person interview where you will be asked repeatedly if they could videotape your interview for training purposes. You will be asked about sales and where you see the cybersecurity industry going, "Hollywood Squares style". This final interview will take a little over an hour. You will get a lot of buy signals, such as "you are definitely in the running for this position," and we will get back to you shortly. I was told this six-person video interview was a formality by the HR Director, but it was supposed to come after the interview with the hiring manager. The hiring manager couldn't be bothered, so I was sent to the Six-person interview. Six days later, I got a form rejection email from RSI's talent team saying they were moving forward with candidates more aligned with the role. An hour after the rejection email was in my junk folder, the same job for Sales Executive-Solutions Advisor - (Hunter) was reposted on LinkedIn. At the same time, my form rejection email showed up in my spam filter. The total time wasted was about 7 hours. I have over 30 years of sales experience and cybersecurity certifications, so if the hiring manager thinks you don't align, neither will you. In a 45-employee private company, the hiring manager is the owner. You will never talk to the owner, so good luck.
Salary was discussed briefly for this role with the HR Man. I was told the position might pay $160,000.00 if you made every objective and hit every bonus. I was told the actual salary was well below that. I thought it was too early in the process, so I didn't question it, but I did ask at the end of the six-person final interview, and the HR Man said he would follow up with those numbers. He never did. He just sent a rejection email six days later. The moral of the story is: "Think Small, Stay Small. That was on me.
