Interview
PhD interview process with “job talk” presentation over lunch. The process seemed overly long considering I wasn’t applying for a tenure track position at a university. People were all nice, except one senior researcher who overshared quite a bit.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I honestly can’t remember a single specific question that anyone asked me. It was more like an academic interview where people are trying to get to know you as a person and want to see if you’ll “fit in” to their department. You assume they already know your work and you’ve already defended it during your “job talk” presentation.
The process to get there seemed confused. It was lengthy. There were several rounds (3). The final interview was with a panel and seemed very scripted and unnatural. They seemed uncomfortable, which made it uncomfortable for me. Never heard back. Tried to contact people, but no-one responded.
