The process was a half hour phone call followed by a very long full day onsite, which I had to fly in for. One engineer called me for a simple half hour phone call to talk about their business unit. Then they invited me in for a full day onsite. Just before the onsite (two business days before), they had me fill out a new application form (I had to fill it out before I arrived), which I later found out in the rejection email was for a completely different position. (They gave me a link to the form entry page, rather than the position description page. Later I checked my dashboard and matched the application date and position name to the name in the rejection email). The onsite was barely technical. It was 8 hours of back-to-back 45 minute chats with 9-10 different scientists. None of them was the scientist I had the half hour phone interview with. I found out after the interview, in the rejection email, that I was being considered for a position that I had no interest in, rather than the one I originally applied for. So, yes, my interview process was highly negative.

This was my experience from 2012. Applied online and got a phone screen from Lead scientist in the group a week after. Since I was not in US they asked if I can come to US for an onsite. I said no because I need a VISA to go to US. They then arranged a Skype/telephone interview. During the hour long interview I gave a talk via telephone while sharing slides via Skype screensharing. After the talk there were technical questions about my talk, do I have offers from other companies etc. Soon after hanging up hiring manager called to say they were planning to give me an offer. I was given an offer the next day.

Five one hour long technical interviews with different people on the team, plus lunch, and a brief meeting with an HR person. Questions were primarily whiteboard coding questions and follow up questions about items on my resume, very few behavioral questions were asked.
