The human resources recruiter contacted me, asked me some preliminary questions over the phone, then arranged an appointment for an onsite interview. The onsite interview with the recruiter comprised the usual questions: he asked about my work experience, why I left my most recent position, and why I was interested in this position for which I was applying. He briefly discussed salary and benefits, then gave me directions to the main hospital building (Human Resources Department is in a separate building on the hospital campus) for my interview with the department head. My interview with the department head was a pleasant experience, as she went into detail about the laboratory and her expectations for the person who would be hired for the position. She also arranged for me to have the opportunity to meet separately with two other lab supervisors, as well as with the Infection Control manager. Each person who interviewed me was very professional and friendly, giving the impression that they were happy to be working for this employer. On the day after the interview, the department head telephoned me to ask my impressions of the interview, and whether I felt I would be happy working in this position. When I indicated that I was still very interested in the position, she told me she would discuss my interview with the HR recruiter.
