I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Rakuten (Tokyo) in Apr 2013
Interview
- Slow process. Bad communication from HR.
- Mainly looking for foreigners, but HR has no clue on what business units need
- HR team is looking for generalist without any specific skills. No interviews with people in job roles
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Rakuten (Tokyo) in May 2026
Interview
The interview process consisted of three rounds total. I was eliminated in the second round. The interviewers were very friendly and approachable, making the conversation feel relaxed and comfortable. Despite the overall positive experience and their welcoming demeanor, I unfortunately did not move forward to the final round.
i was asked very simple questions. For instance, why do want to work at rakuten, why do you want to pursue job, past experiences, the interview was in japanese, and interviewers were chill
I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Rakuten (Tokyo) in Mar 2021
Interview
I had applied for a role in Rakuten mobile through a consultant. And then I was called for the first round of interview.
And then after a feedback I was called for a second round of interview. But they cancelled my interview in the last minute and they didn’t even explain or give any reasons why they cancelled. I wish they had respected the candidate’s time as well because every candidate spends so much of time preparing for their interview, ensuring that they move all their office meetings and be available. This is one of the annoying experience I have ever had.
