A recruiter reached out to me about this position while I was exploring similar opportunities. I had several interviews lined up, but after learning more about the company, I was keen to proceed as it matched my career aspirations. The recruiter was engaging and provided detailed information on the role, including competitive aspects like compensation and travel requirements. They aimed to fill two openings within two weeks and quickly arranged an interview for me with the implementation team lead, followed by another with the implementation manager the next morning. Their enthusiasm suggested a fast-paced hiring process. A final virtual interview was scheduled with the overseas director, who expressed strong interest in my candidacy, told me I was great for the role, and mentioned an impending decision from HR. I explained I had some other final round interviews, but I was most excited for this position, and would stand by. She agreed they would move quickly in order to get things going. This interview process, spanning just seven days and four stages, initially seemed promising. However, despite being told a decision was imminent, I heard nothing I followed up with the recruiter, but it wasn’t until a week later, I received a quick message that they were still interviewing, contradicting earlier communications. Ultimately, I learned the role was filled by someone else, and then saw it reposted online. When I sought feedback, the only reply came from an HR business partner who had never spoken to me, stating the recruiter was no longer with the company and that they were looking for other candidates. It is one thing to go through four rounds of interviews and not get the role. It’s another to be told practically told by the entire hiring team that you’d be great and to stand by despite your other interviews, only to be completely ghosted in the end and scoffed at when you reach out as to why they basically lied to you and reposted the role. This experience, coupled with similar reviews from previous interviewers, suggests the hiring team simply wants to keep candidates excited and on the hook until they find what they want, but lack the accountability to be forthright in their decision making.
