I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Raymond James Financial in Oct 2021
Interview
Shortly after submitting application you will be invited to complete a series of questions assessing your personality, logic, numeric skills, and reading through a platform called Well Suited (you can take practice tests on website before-wink,wink). This is an algorithm that determines an objective measure of your overall fit with previous successful investment banker composite fits. If you get selected for next round you will be emailed to schedule an initial interview that is usually a screening. It varies location to location by it will be more resume questions with several technicals, then followed by 2-3 interviews with upper management.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was asked rapid fire questions and mental math for one location and nothing technical for another. After you will have several rounds of interviews with VPs or MDs that ask you the normal mix of resume/background, why IB/RJ, and some technicals (how to value company, what qualitative factors can you add to valuation). All very standard IB interview questions. My recommendation is be prepared with technicals and reasons to why IB,RJ and that specific location. Have your story right and the rest you should just be yourself.
I interviewed at Raymond James Financial (London, England)
Interview
There was 1 HR interview, then a selective networking event, then an assessment centre. 50 people are invited to the networking event and 20 are selected for the AC, then 10-12 given offers.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
First round interview:
- Why Raymond James, why M&A, what is the difference between M and A, questions about private credit, 3 valuation methods, common multiples used in valuation, pros and cons of using EBITDA, industry specific multiples, favourite m&a sector (eg tech, industrials, healthcare etc) and why
AC: 2 MD interviews + 1 group case study
I applied online. I interviewed at Raymond James Financial (Saint Petersburg, FL) in Feb 2026
Interview
I have only gone through the video interview portion, which is the first part. The questions were super difficult to answer, BE PREPARED!!! They ask a lot of questions about finance, not you as a person. I was only asked one question (Tell me about yourself and your previous work experience), which was the only question where I explained my experiences. I was asked 7 questions, 6 of which were to provide a stock pitch, advantages of an IPO, and the differences between equity and debt issuance
