I put in the application online, and figured I wouldn't get a call since my availability is M-Sa 8 am to 8 pm, right? Well a man calls and schedules an interview with me in very broken English so it was hard to understand one another. I show up and he says the "Server's Assistant" position is just a busser, but no one would apply if it were called that. He then says he only needs nights and makes it a big deal, and didn't really ask any questions about me personally, just about whether I could work these nights which I kept saying no to. He extends a job offer, working shifts I can't, getting paid 5 dollars an hour plus 3 percent what the servers make. From my restaurant experience, I know servers might get a hundred bucks a night, meaning I'll probably get 15 or less. So I said I'd do the online paperwork but didn't.
