      Site Coordinator Interview

      May 11, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Charleston, SC
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Reading Partners (Charleston, SC) in Apr 2015

      Interview

I met with four staff at the Reading Partners office. One read questions from a laptop computer and wrote down my responses while the others offered follow up questions. The interview questions were pretty simple- asking me about past volunteer and leadership experience. It was overall not a difficult process, however I left the interview uncertain if I'd want to work with Reading Partners. My interviewers were withdrawn and rather unengaged in my responses throughout the process.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Reading Partners (New York, NY) in Apr 2019

      Interview

Applied online, phone screen with a former AmeriCorps Site Coordinator, project and questionnaire, and in person interview. All welcoming people, passionate about the mission. The process is involved though. The questions are thought provoking, there is role-play, and you have to do a written assignment. They are upfront about the AmeriCorps status and stipend amount at all stages from the posted job description to the offer letter. The offer will be contingent on background check. Be honest with yourself and with them before accepting about whether the arrangement is feasible for you.
