As a recent graduate, I have been through a lot of interviews with a lot of companies, in many different industries. And I understand recruiting is not an easy job and talent acquisition requires a lot of time and effort, but the least you can do is to have common courtesy and respect for candidates. I was contacted by HR manager on LinkedIn to apply for a job. I applied and got an email to schedule a call interview with 2 days. 45 minutes after the scheduled time with no call, I got an email from her to reschedule for next week because she couldn't make it. Next week came and I got no confirmation so I followed up. We agreed on a time and the same thing happened. No call, no apology, not even an excuse (which may have made her feel better), just a request to reschedule. I was interviewing for another job at the time so I dropped it and stopped following up.
2 months later, there was a higher level position that I wanted to go for. The same HR manager reached out to me to schedule a phone interview. Again, no call, no apology, no excuse, just a request to reschedule that came 30 minutes after the scheduled call. And she never rescheduled, and I am glad she did not because I would have withdrawn my application anyway.
