Real interview questions

I was being considered for a backend engineer position. They gave me a take home, which was a git repo with some simple and poorly written java code to process CSV files. There are no requirements other than make a test pass, so I used the KISS principle and implemented a solution that processed the given CSV file, and would also work on any other variation they may throw in. I was told my solution was too simple and I did not move on. It sounds like they want some unnecessarily complex, over-engineered solution. Working for an employer that gives no requirements and want's solutions that are complex for no reason would be a nightmare.
