      Account Manager Interview

      Jan 17, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Washington, DC
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Recharge Payments (Washington, DC) in Dec 2019

      Interview

Was contacted by the company recruiter not long after I applied. Then I had a 20 minute call with that person who then indicated they would like to schedule a call with a manager. Quite a few weeks later I was contacted again and a call was scheduled a few weeks out. That call as it turned out was just the recruiter asking me if I was still interested since it had been so long since we had initially talked. Another week or two went by and I finally had a call with the manager of the team I was interviewing to join. He sounded a bit inexperienced at interviewing so the flow of the call was a bit all over the place. He was also quite a talker and I felt like all he did was talk and not give me a chance to talk very much. Was around a 30 minute call and for the last 10 minutes of the call he asked that I ask him questions. However after a question he talked so much I didn't have much of a chance to ask but a few. At the end of the call I was told I got a thumbs up and that I would be moving on to another interview with another senior team member. 3 days later I got an email saying they weren't moving forward with me. I feel that the manager should have been transparent and instead of telling me I was moving on to the next round of interviews to instead say they were interviewing others and would let me know if they wanted to schedule the next interview. This is another place he really showed his inexperience. From first to final contact was around 6 weeks. To give feedback I would suggest interviews be more organized, not have people wait so long in between calls and have a more experienced manager conduct them.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Recharge Payments

      Interview

Applied on LinkedIn. I was then contacted by the recruiter to set up a call. First interview with a recruiter I spoke about my background, learn about the company, and about the role. I then spoke with the hiring manager. I then spoke with members of the team who I would potentially be working with. The questions they asked were not difficult. No one sounded enthusiastic about the company. My observation is that this company is not diverse culturally. I recommend doing your research on this company, please read the reviews from their employees.
