      Recruiter Interview

      Mar 1, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Recharge Payments in Jan 2020

      Interview

The process included a phone call with a member of the TA team, followed by video chats with the Director of TA and other People team members, followed by cross-functional team video chats, and then finally chats with the Co-Founders. I was reassured throughout the entire process that the feedback was positive and felt confident, however, my final chat with the Co-Founders is where the process became profoundly negative. Neither seemed particularly interested in chatting, both were late, and unsurprisingly, I received a rejection a week after those conversations. It was admitted that they have had a lot of people they consider talented, not make it past the final chat with the founders and I am pretty perplexed that they would not see this as a diversity and inclusion issue when the entire process seems extremely vulnerable to bias and not actually based on anything substantiative if the founders will just ultimately decide if they want a person at ReCharge from a very brief phone call.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Recharge Payments (Denver, CO) in Jan 2020

      Interview

This may be a good company to work for but their recruiting process needs some work. Had an initial phone screen with a recruiter followed by a google hangout with the Director of talent acquisition. He was late to our call and had to leave the moment it ended but wanted to set up another call for me to speak to someone else. The next day I got the automated “we went in another direction” email which ends with “I hope your interview experience was positive.” Oh yeah, very! I get things happen and minds change. Just felt like a waste of time. If you aren’t going to move a candidate forward then don’t tell them you are and then send an automated message saying otherwise. I did ask for feedback but no response.
