I thoughtfully filled the application form, and it took +/- 1 hour to answer all of the questions. The recruiter reached out to me the same day to schedule a 15 minutes screening call. The screening was cold; the recruiter didn't want to know anything about me nor sell the company. They wanted to gather a few yes/no answers about my skills. This would explain why they only schedule 15 minutes.
I asked for some detail on the company's direction and how it will impact the mandate of this role. They declined to answer my basic questions, citing that this was confidential with a somewhat "hostile" tone. This made the rest of the conversation very awkward.
Some other red flags:
"Everyone is in the weeds here"; READ -> Chaotic work environment.
"The roadmap is already done; we only need someone to execute for the next 12 months"; READ -> they are not looking for a product manager but a project manager or lead engineer.
They ended up mentioning that there may be a fit, and I would hear back "shortly", but never got back to me. Reading the other interviews feedback posted here, it seems to be a recurring pattern.
