I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Reckitt (Slough, Berkshire, South East England, England) in Feb 2014
Interview
Initially approached by a recruitment consultant for the role (Silver Stone). Impressed by their knowledge of their client and the role and managed my expectations well. This was followed by a stage 1 interview with HR Director and Global Sales Director which lasted 60mins and revolved around competency based questions and a CV run through. I was impressed by the level of detail I was probed on and found most questions to be logical and well structured. Two things really struck me in the first interview. Firstly how aligned the two interviewees were in their candid answers to the pros/cons of working at RB. Secondly how long they had both worked at the company (+30 years between them) and the clear passion they had for RB was infectious. Lastly before my 1st interview I was met by Miles Rossiter who bought me a coffee and had a 15mins intro chat with me – this was a nice touch in terms of a warm welcome, helping me understand the business and the culture in more detail.
The second stage interview was with the UK Sales director and SVP ENA. Again I was impressed by the alignment, passion and experience they had with RB. I left with a very clear mind on what the role would entail and more importantly the challenges I would face. The level of honesty and integrity impressed me greatly and now working at RB it is exactly how I believed it would be. Post interview the offer came quickly (3 weeks from 1st interview to offer acceptance) and the recruitment consultant was amiable and kept me informed throughout the whole process. The final touch (which again was very good) was the box of products that was sent to my house from HR welcoming me to the team.
RB would easily rate as the best candidate interview process I have been part off because of their openness to both the pros and cons of working for them & the culture is so alarmingly consistent across the team you know almost immediately whether you want to be part of it. I would recommend RB to any of my friends or past colleagues because of this.
