The interview process was straightforward. The recruiting team was ON IT. I have never dealt with a recruiting team that was this disciplined before, and I have done a lot of interviews.
The communication from the recruiting team went like this:
- Congrats you are a contestant on the price is right, this is the time of your first of 5 interviews
- Day before interview reminder
- Day after follow up (yes, the COMPANY did the follow up, wild, they beat me to it half the time)
- Asked for potential times for the next round of interviewing x4
- Confirmed interview time x4
- Day before interview time verification to ensure it still worked for me x4
- Post interview follow up x4
- Verbal job offer
- Email confirmation about a job offer being in process
- Job Offer
Seems silly writing down what could be said as common decency, but they did actually do all these things with poise, professionalism, and excitement.
There were times when there were lulls in communications but this was due to the hiring team waiting to finish the current pool of candidates. I did reach out during this time to the recruiters and they responded back in less than 24 hours stating that they do not have information at this time. I respected their answers a lot as they never attempted to juice up a response to paint a rosier picture, the recruiting team kept it real and honest the whole way.
The only negative that I could point to would be the actual interviewers. Yes, this company is start-up / incubation land and it is to be expected certain things are not polished. However, there were time where I questioned whether or not the actual interviewers actually spoke amongst themselves about the candidates beforehand. That could just be a personal thing for me as this would help reduce bias being applied in the process.
