I submitted my resume online and was contacted via email to set up a time for a phone interview. During the phone interview I was asked a few questions and they also asked if I had any questions for them, which I did (I had prepared a few). The interviewer was polite, however I did feel like she didn't actually listen to anything I was saying. Her responses were full of "mhmms" and "yeahs" and "good". No part of the conversation was what I would describe as active listening. She didn't respond directly to anything I said, and she interrupted me a few times when I was answering her questions. The phone call from start to finish lasted about 3 minutes. I knew it was going to be a very short phone call, however I was also expecting the interviewer to actually show some kind of interest in my responses. I was asked to come in a few days later for a follow-up interview at RV which would last approximately 1 1/2 hours. Initially I said yes, however after reading over the material that they sent me, doing research on Glassdoor about the interview/work process (which sounded like a group interview more than one-on-one), and speaking with several friends that were former employees I decided against pursuing a position here and cancelled my interview 24 hours ahead of time like requested. I have heard all kinds of great things about this company, mostly about their benefits and what a great 'campus' so to speak that they have. But to me I want to work somewhere where my opinion matters and I am not just another employee that they can't even take the time to have a personal interview with, or to even pretend like they care about responses on the phone interview. I will not be pursuing any positions with RV but encourage others to do so if they don't care about a personal interview.
