I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Redfin (Seattle, WA) in Jul 2020
Interview
The whole interview process took about 6 weeks, and I had a take-home assignment, 1 tech phone screening, and 5 onsite interviews.
For the onsite, I had 4 tech interviews and each interviewer spent 15 to 20 min on behavioral/cultural questions and the rest of time for algorithm/data structure/oop design. The lunch interview is all about behavior/culture.
I felt that Redfin is serious about hiring people who share similar values with themselves, so make sure that you learn about their cultures and propositions. Typical leetcode easy-medium questions and OOP design question (i.e. poker game). Unfortunately, some of the interviewers I met were not competent/skilled enough. When I was going into a wrong direction while solving a coding questions, they didn’t really catch what’s wrong either and were not able to give hint or anything.
Other Software Engineer Interview Reviews for Redfin
Very practical interview where they asked the ingesting MLS data points and how do we map it on out system. The interviewer was very kind and if youdont know about specific he will take time to explain.
Got to the first interview and got cut after. Just asked basic behavioral questions. Wasn't too difficult, but there were probably applicants that gave better answers. Interviewer was nice and kind.

Question 1
Tell me about a time where you disagreed with a teammate, and how did you resolve it?
There was a phone screening, then zoom interviews. I was asked behavioral questions, and I did well on it. There were technical rounds, and I passed, standard technical questions. Also spoke to the hiring manager for the skills and cultural fit.
