I had applied online. Few weeks later, recruiter reached to schedule a 30 mins call to discuss my profile, job responsibilities and next steps. The first call with recruiter was about some of the projects I accomplished in previous roles. Recruiter also explained the next steps ; assessment test, call with hiring manager and few other team members. After the call, I emailed the recruiter asking to send me the assessment test. I did not hear back for a day so sent another email. Still no response and I sent another follow-up email. I felt at this point that the communication was not proper. Recruiter finally sent the assessment test and asked me to submit my response within 48 hours. I sent it back in 24 hours but never received the confirmation. I followed-up a week later but no response. After 3 weeks, online application status showed "no longer under consideration". Very bad communication which feels disrespectful considering the amount of time I spent on the interview process.

Recruiter reached out - wasn’t able to answer many questions about the role or team. She didn’t seem like a dedicated recruiter for Title First, a very small, Philly based subsidiary of RedFin.

SQL & Tableau questions
The SQL questions weren’t clearly worded so I included my assumptions for what I thought they were asking for. Some standard questions like, tell me about a time you used data to influence senior leaders.
I’m fairly new to Tableau so wasn’t able to create some of the features they asked for. They provided a sample dataset of fake pizza sales by store location

The recruiter responded to my application and scheduled a phone interview for us to discuss my interests. After the phone interview, I was then given a data analysis assignment to assess my skills in Tableau and SQL, which on average takes 2-4 hours to complete. Considering I work full-time, I still submitted my assignment by the deadline but after a week from not hearing back, I sent a follow up email to the recruiter asking for feedback/next steps. Soon after, I received a generic response requesting to schedule a phone interview with the hiring manager.
During the interview with the hiring manager, she mentioned a technical skillset she was specifically looking for in filling this role but she already knew that I did not have such experience based on my resume and initial phone screen with the recruiter. By the end of the interview, there was no acknowledgement, discussion or feedback about the assignment which made me feel like I wasted my time to even complete it.
My feedback on their recruiting process is that the recruiter and hiring manager should spend more time communicating and aligning on what specific needs are of roles so that you don’t waste candidate’s time in going through a rigorous application process when they’re initially not a good fit. Please consider that your candidates may have full-time positions but they are allocating time in learning and meeting your company. If you do not even value candidates during the recruiting process, I’m not sure you are able to value me as an employee.
