      Digital Marketing Specialist Interview

      Sep 30, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Seattle, WA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Redfin (Seattle, WA) in Jul 2021

      Interview

It took one month after submitting my resume to get contacted. Then about another month after to go through the interview process. I went through two 45 min interviews, a 3-day assignment, and a 4-hour loop interview. In total, I spent about 20 hours (most on assignment). After the final round I was told that I was a "Great fit for Redfin and the marketing team" and "showed great technical skill and drive", but that I was not receiving an offer because I did not have "enough experience". The job posting required 1-year of experience, I had 4 years of experience. My question is this: If a candidate did not have enough experience or showed a lack of understanding in an area that the job requires then why wouldn't you weed out the candidate during the first or second round of the interview process? Stop wasting people's time.

      Question 1

The first rounds are technical interview questions. Group interviews are all behavioral questions.

      Interview

I interviewed during covid so it started with a phone interview then a video interview. I met with a hiring manager first. Then two managers who manage those in the role I was applying for, with the possibility of one of those individuals becoming my manager.
