I applied online. I interviewed at Redfin (Seattle, WA) in Oct 2021
Interview
Probably the worst experience I’ve had with a company. Initial recruiter screen the recruiter seemed like she had no idea what was going on and was just now seeing my resume. She pointed out a typo. Seemed kinda spacey. Next was a 1 hr call with the hiring manager. She didn’t ask me questions. Instead she kept asking me what questions do I have. It was super awk like you’re the interviewer not me. After that they sent a huge online assignment. It took 3 hrs and was in this awful tool filtered.Io and you were supposed to get the code to work to call an API that had 0 documentation. And write a big write up selling your solution. I submitted without it working because it did not say what inputs the API accepts and there was no way to debug in the tool. They sent a rejection. I emailed saying how the tool is bad etc. the recruiter calls me and says she feels bad and they’ll do a normal zoom tech screen. I solved the guys problem (2 different ways) it was basic kth smallest #. Got rejected the next day. Seemed this second chance was just to be nice and they already had decided no. Such a waste of time.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Kth smallest number, what questions do you have for me?
Very practical interview where they asked the ingesting MLS data points and how do we map it on out system. The interviewer was very kind and if youdont know about specific he will take time to explain.
Got to the first interview and got cut after. Just asked basic behavioral questions. Wasn't too difficult, but there were probably applicants that gave better answers. Interviewer was nice and kind.

Question 1
Tell me about a time where you disagreed with a teammate, and how did you resolve it?
There was a phone screening, then zoom interviews. I was asked behavioral questions, and I did well on it. There were technical rounds, and I passed, standard technical questions. Also spoke to the hiring manager for the skills and cultural fit.
