It took me a week after I sent in my resume before I was contacted by Redfin. The senior recruiter seemed out of her league. I did have several phone conversations with the recruiter. On each conversation I asked a number of questions. Maybe they were too technical for the recruiter but even after my 30 minute interview, she did not have an answer. I am a seasoned managing broker in the state of Illinois. Some of Redfin's policy may not work or be "legal" for Illinois, i.e., buyer's kick-back at close. I did find out that the recruiter was new to the Chicago market and was not a realtor. I found that to be unusual. Apparently that was the reason for her lack of knowledge for both real estate and Illinois law.
