Redfin Product Design interview questions

The interview process started with a 30 minute phone screen with a recruiter. Then I had a 1-on-1 video chat with the product manager that I would've been working with if I had gotten the role. Both the recruiter and the product manager were really friendly and personable, but I could tell that they were looking for someone more senior. It seems like product designers at Redfin (or at least for the team I interviewed for) are typically expected to be the sole designer on that feature, so it makes sense that they're pretty demanding/rigorous. If I had moved on from the video chat, the next steps would've been an in-person portfolio review then another interview that includes 2 design challenges (1 with a product manager and 1 with a product designer), an app critique, and lunch.

Recruiter reached out to me, phone interview, and interview with designer. Designer spent more than half the interview about the background of Redfin and why Redfin is such a great startup-like company. Didn't really give me the time to ask questions in the end, just went on for a long time talking about how Redfin was disrupting the real estate industry. I did want to hear more about the company but the discussion just felt like the interviewer was pitching the company to me.
