I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Relativity (Chicago, IL) in Oct 2016
Interview
The interview was 4 hours with 8 people. It was a unique interview experience. They wanted to know if I was humble. How do you sell humble in an interview? I felt as though I couldn't discuss the high points in my career and the projects I was proud of. I didn't have 4 hours of humble brags. I found the experience frustrating. I like that they want to find somebody that will fit into their group but I feel strongly that the approach they took doesn't answer that question.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked questions regarding their core values for four hours.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Relativity (Chicago, IL) in Jun 2019
Interview
1 - Phone screen with recruiter
2 - Phone screen with hiring manager
3 - 3 hr onsite divided into 3 parts: Core Values, Competencies, Insight.
Mostly a straight forward, but I found the onsite to be disjointed. Also, I recommend understanding what the ask is of the Competencies first so you have a head start. Being asked to come up with a strategy and implementation plan in a short time and present is a bit much to ask.
I also had to follow-up almost a week after the onsite to get the status. After such a time investment, it's a bit disappointing to have not received a decision right away.
I applied through other source. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Relativity (Chicago, IL)
Interview
Initially the process went fast. I had the following interviews
1) Interview with HR on phone. 30 minutes. Easy
2) Interview with Hiring Manager on phone. 45 minutes easy
3) Onsite interview. Interviews are done in pair
3a) Interviews # 1. Past experience. Lots of questions about "What do you think John (John being your manager for that position) would say about your work. What do you think you did something that you were proud of. What do you think you failed in doing that job. They would go one by one with this kind of questioning for each job you have had before.
2) Interview # 2: About project management. Nothing difficult
3) Interview # 3: Was supposed to be with two people but only one showed up. All the question about the principals of Relativity.
Overall experience I am giving negative because
1) Even after several months I have not received any email about what was their decision. At this point I am assuming I did not get the job. I don't know but HR should have a simple decency of sending a quick email. Seems like they don't live by their own values of "Be an excellent communicator"
2) Even though the company claims that they work in agile fashion, I highly doubt they do based on my conversation with them. Just getting together every two weeks and deciding what you need to do in next two week is not agile
3) Their senior manager did not know the difference between a program and project. He kept on asking me the same question and no matter how I answered the question I just could not give him the answer he was looking for. Clearly he did not know
