      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Relativity Space in Feb 2022

      Interview

Two phone interviews: the first a primarily behavioral and experiential interview in the form of a conversation with an engineering lead from a different group, the second a technical interview with an engineer from the intended group. Both engineers were kind, asked excellent questions, and were clearly quite intelligent. Gave thoughtful and thorough answers to questions about the project, company, culture, and goals.

      Interview questions [3]

      Question 1

Where are the locations of max shear and bending moment on a simply supported beam with a distributed load?

      Question 2

How would you vary beam area as a function of length to maximize strength?
      Answer question

      Question 3

How would you select the cross-sectional shape and beam material?

      Mechanical Engineering Intern Interview

      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Stennis Space Center, MS
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Relativity Space (Stennis Space Center, MS) in Feb 2022

      Interview

Multi-round interview, purely technical, interviewer was quite rude and would interject whenever I slipped up. I incorrectly answered something and they said "mmm well that's wrong so anyways I guess we'll continue." Not a company worth the time interviewing for.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Why does steel have an endurance limit but aluminum doesn't?
