Interview
I took two tests which took a couple hours before I even met with a hiring manager. The first test was a personality test to see if I fit into the company culture and role. The second was a sales skills and aptitude test. Both tests were evaluated by the receptionist. While the second test was being scored, I was called into the Sales Managers office where she very skillfully told me that I'm not a salesperson based on the first personality test. She told me that she really liked me and thought I would be better suited in a different department. She said she'd pass on my resume to the other department head. It was all very objective and accurate. I really appreciated that. There was no agonizing wait to know if I had gotten the job. There was no wondering why I wasn't offered the job. Even though she turned me down, I walked out of there with a smile on my face as though I had been offered a job. It was a pretty good albeit lengthy interview process. It dawned on me as I was walking out the door that she is one skilled salesperson.
