First, HR reached out and gave a challenge based on pandas. Pretty straight forward. Next step was an onsite interview. This is where things went downhill. 1. HR sent out a generic email with time slots without specifying interview format, what to expect, how many technical rounds, HR rounds ,etc. 2. Team member was supposed to interview. However, didn't show up on time. Was about 45 minutes late. 3. The questions asked onsite were absolutely irrelevant to either the assignment or the position. Makes me wonder what is the purpose of the assignment in the first place. Just a waste of time. This was after the fact that the HR mentioned that I would be asked questions based on the assignments. 4. Was supposed to be interviewed by product manager. However, at the last minute, they decided to swap it with the team member who missed the interview. Advice to team: 1. Guys, I understand you are busy. However, stop wasting candidates time. If you are really serious about hiring someone, the least you can do is ask relevant questions and respect others time. 2. Please stop sending generic rejection emails. This is really not helpful in any way. Please be honest in rejection emails with proper feedback. Was it not a technical fit? Was it not a cultural fit? etc.
