      Product Manager Interview

      Jul 4, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Reonomy in Jun 2020

      Interview

During the process, I went through three different interviews: 1) Phone screen with recruiter (30 min) 2) Phone call with Director of Products (30-45 min) 3) Virtual onsite: A skills/scenario-based interview assessing technical, UX, product strategy and product discovery knowledge with four different members of the team (3 hours) I was told that the next step after the third interview would be to do some sort of presentation for a panel and participate in a few more one-on-one interviews with other members of the team. However, I was not invited to continue on to the next step. The first two interviews were straightforward and simple, mostly focused on learning more about my background and providing more information to me about the role. My "onsite" interview was conducted virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions. I found it to be a bit difficult. I was not informed by the recruiter that the onsite would be focused on testing my knowledge and skills (ie. scenario-based), and I assumed it would be more focused on cultural fit - my fault for not inquiring and asking for clarification. Overall, I felt the interview process was fair and moderately challenging.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

These are all paraphrased and/or closely resemble the spirit of what was asked: 1) How would you go about building and designing an app used for cataloging a wardrobe? 2) We've noticed an issue with new customer retention - how would you address this issue? 3) How would you decide whether or not to green-light bringing a new feature that would require significant resource investment to fruition? 4) We need to add new functionality to allow users to log calls made to a prospect. What would this new feature look like? What input fields would you add, and what are the data types for those fields? When a user saves a new call record, what happens on the backend for that record to be saved?
