      Growth Marketing Analyst Interview

      Apr 12, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Resident (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2022

      Interview

Recruiter reached out after seeing my resume, we had a positive interview, and she connected me with the marketing team. I did first round interview, that went well, then had second round interview a marketing manager (who would supervise this role). That went well too. I really liked the team. This all took about a week or two. Oh, and I filled out a quick assessment, it wasn't difficult. Recruiter calls me back on a Friday and tells me congradulations, I have the job! She verified my salary ask, etc. She says she will send me the offer by the end of day Friday or at the latest on Monday. I celebrate that weekend, but Monday comes and no letter. I reach out mid-week, she avoids me. She avoids me for almost a whole week then reaches out and said she had IT issues, that I still have the role, and that it's just taking time to get me the offer. Weeks go by. I reach out consistently. She eventually says that things are changing in the upper levels and that's why I don't have an offer? It was weird. Eventually a month has gone by. She keeps telling me that it's coming but I started giving up on her and the company. It's been six weeks now and she just hasn't reached out at all in the last week. It's a weird and uncomfortable situation; not sure why they wouldn't just be honest and say "no," or even "we aren't currently hiring for this role right now anymore, but we will reach out in x amount of months when we are ready." To say yes and then keep promising an offer letter and then avoiding calls is such weird behavior. I don't want to work for a company like this anyway, so I guess it's good that I found out before signing on.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Marketing team just tested my knowledge of basic SEO and information gathering tasks. Super focused on digital marketing; pretty straightforward/normal marketing team (and seems to function well).
