Was contacted by a recruiter from Resolve Tech Solutions (which originated from LinkedIn) for an initial phone screening to discuss my background. The call began with a standard review of my experience, which went well. However, for a follow up, the momentum stopped once the recruiter asked for the exact month my last contract ended. Despite my resume showing active GitHub projects and a clear history of contracting, the recruiter immediately stated they were going to "place the position on hold for me" rather than advancing me to the technical rounds. The conversation didn't advance beyond this. Highly disappointing to judge a candidate based on layoffs rather than skills and experience. Job seekers who are currently out of work should be aware of this screening criteria.
