I was referred through a friend for what I thought was an Assistant Buyer position in the College Point headquarters. During my first interview I met with an extremely nice woman that wanted to put into a Management Training Program in-store somewhere for 3-6 months before moving into the corporate office. I was willing to take part and got a second interview with one of the Head Buyers who was very stern and not very nice. The interview went well then I never heard for a while. Then a month or so later I got a call from a store manager saying the first interviewer had finally passed along my resume and he would like to meet with me. Upon getting there, the manager was also extremely nice but knew nothing about what position I was applying for, what department I would be in, my salary, or pretty much anything else. Clearly, there is a disconnect from the disorganized corporate office and the store level managers. That being said, the store manager was extremely willing to offer me the job just wanted to talk to corporate about the details - after which I never heard back from anyone even after e-mails inquiring about the status of my application.
In addition to being extremely disorganized, I don't think this management training program really "exists" in the sense where my friend at the company knew nothing of it, there was no information on the website or anywhere else online.
Very discouraging going through months of interviews and being interested in and then just not hearing anything back. Disorganized and disconnected company.
