I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Rev (New York, NY) in Dec 2016
Interview
The interview process is entirely online. First, you fill out a small writing sample, take a short spelling/grammar test, and do a test captioning video (2-hour time limit). If you have decent grammar, they show you what they were looking for in the test captioning video. Then you have 24 hours to complete the second captioning video & review, and a final captioning video that you submit as the application. The whole process took about 3 or 4 days. I was ultimately rejected. They state in the email they cannot tell you why you were rejected, but only 12% of applicants get approved. The most common reasons for rejection are:
-Accuracy: Typos, grammar mistakes, omitting words or phrases.
-Formatting: Not indicating speaker changes or using the up-arrow caret (^) when required.
-Syncing: Not aligning caption groups to when the dialogue is spoken.

Question 1
Tell us about your hometown. What was it like growing up there? What is there to do? What are popular foods there?
It was easy. Just a short audio file. and also a grammar test. Mostly choice answers. You'll wait for the results , some times it takes just a short period of time.
Easy process to get in as long as you trust your dialect and no human interaction at all. All you do is to pass the Transcription part and English MCQ.
You need to pass a toting test and submit a sample of your work to assess your writing and language proficiency skills. Then once you pass, if you are accepted, you will be able to get trained and have your work graded and paid for.
