      Transcriptioner Interview

      Jul 20, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Rev (New York, NY) in Jul 2015

      Interview

You apply online and take a 1 hour test on the spot. The test involves three parts - 8 multiple choice grammar questions, a 3 paragraph writing prompt, and then a transcription test. Once you submit your test, you receive an email confirming that Rev received everything they need. I then received an email about 12 hours later letting me know that my Rev account has been activated. You can then begin working right away.

      Question 1

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Rev in Jul 2016

      Interview

The interview process was lengthy and challenging. First, I provided some basic information about myself. Next, I had to take a simple grammar test. After that, I was asked to provide a one-to-three-paragraph passage describing my home town. Last, I transcribed a short audio clip according to the guidance materials provided by Rev. I'd definitely recommend reading all of the guidance materials thoroughly, especially if you're new to transcription, as they provide a lot of information that is specific to the job and their parameters.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Rev in Mar 2015

      Interview

The test that they have you take is COMPLETELY different then the sample. It is much more involved. It it's very misleading as to what is involved for the test. I expected the test to be similar to the sample they show you but it is not. It is probably easier for someone who does transcription already. They do give their requirements for the test sample but what you need to do for certain things is a bit confusing.

      Question 1

No questions, just on line typing test.
