The initial phone interview was with a recruiter they moved me forward to speaking with the Director of Data Services. Then they moved me forward to speak with an entire team including the CTO. First, it was via Zoom then the recruiter asked if I could come into the offices. Which was fine because I am local. It was a 3-hour interview with a few different people. What literally turned me off and I have never had this happen to me before ever in my entire career. The CTO was distracted doing something else and one of the other interviewers had to ask if his volume was on. The CTO was via zoom. I could tell the interviewer was embarrassed. It was disrespectful and unprofessional. I took an entire day off work to go into their offices to interview as I am employed, and the CTO of the company had no respect for my time. Or the fact they called me in not the other way around. I was looking them over just as much as they were looking me over. At that point, I would not have taken the job if they offered it to me. That was a major red flag, when the recruiter checked in with me, I let her know that the CTO was distracted during the interview. I did not give her an opinion on how I felt about it as it would not have made a difference. That was just too concerning to me and made me have no desire to work for them if the CTO behaved this way in an interview.
