I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Revolut in Jun 2024
Interview
The first interview was a 30 min call with the recruiter. They briefly presented the company and outlined the position. I had the opportunity to justify how my background would fit the job requirements and that was a great match, After that, I was invited for an online assessment. There were 40 questions to be answered in 20 minutes, and the mandatory pass rate was 90%, which I think is insanely difficult and very unlikely. Well, I didn't pass it, as any other normal human [not using ChatGPT] wouldn't. Some [few] questions were feasible to read and respond in less than 0.5 minute, but the majority of it demanded drafting, calculation and other deep thinking that made me realise it's humanly impossible to make through 36 questions perfectly in the given time. When the company put this weak 20 min criteria first (which is not even an IQ test), they lose the opportunity to give a chance for a highly skilled professional to perform, even in the same 20 min, a technical assessment that is really an indicative of its capability, since they're only approving people who probably use AI tools to respond quickly on time.

Question 1
How does your background experience fit into this role?
Spanish lady had no idea that I was booked in. Had no idea that there was a job available and seemed to be watching TV while interviewing. Strangest experience I've had.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Revolut in May 2026
Interview
I was approached by a recruiter at Revolut on LinkedIn and applied via the website.
Screening call with HR was promptly arranged. I got to chose the date/time via a site.
Online assessments followed the interview.
Skills interview with Manager arranged and that's where it went downhill. Asked to explain my CV then various case studies which were not particularly clear as the interviewer was reading from a script. No questions were asked of me.

Question 1
Nothing. They asked me to explain my CV and did various case studies. The interviewer was reading from a script. She was utterly disinterested in me and even yawned during the interview (without apologising).
Said she only hires 'smart people'. Said there was far too much volume of work. Talked about 'managing out' those that don't perform. Said they are struggling to hire (no wonder!). Huge reg flags.
The process was hectic but feedback is really quick and engaging. The hiring agent is amazing and communication is always open and considerate. Quite a lengthy process and you must really prepare as some question are not related to your work rather how you think and process
